The piece opens Allegro Macabro with interlocking rhythms that demand precise articulation, transitioning into a "Macabre Tango" that tests the players' syncopation and interval accuracy. The finale explodes into a frenzied display of hocketing arpeggios and altissimo fireworks, culminating in a thrilling, aggressive finish.
