This highly expressive solo features driving staccato minor-key marches, a sweeping, spooky waltz, and blazing harmonic minor runs. The highlight of the etude is a breathless 16th-note technical section that perfectly mimics the rapid flapping of wings and the desperate, adrenaline-fueled sprint to escape the creature.
